Glanusk Lodge is situated amongst beautiful landscaped gardens, in the heart of Glanusk Estate & Park in Crickhowell, Powys and is known as the “Jewel in the Usk Valley”. Glanusk Lodge is sited next to the location of the original mansion which was demolished in 1956, therefore considered to have the best, commanding views of Glanusk Estate and surrounding area.
The garden surrounding Glanusk Lodge is a renowned wedding venue. Glanusk Lodge is sunny and light with plenty of space inside and out. There are expansive lawns for games of cricket or croquet, and many private, quiet spots to lie down and read that book! The River Usk is just a few minutes walk away and guests are welcome to explore the park and wander the tracks and roadways. The spacious, airy drawing room has comfortable sofas and an open fire and views over the parkland. French doors open onto a paved terrace and the tiered lawns beyond, the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. This is your private garden! The dining room features a table that seats up to 16 and also has French doors opening on to the terrace. An adjacent utility room has a second fridge/freezer, washing machine and dryer. The Lodge has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor and four are upstairs. Garden Cottage, a pretty, private cottage, is the original Glanusk Estate gardener’s cottage and sits within part of the original walled garden, close to the privately owned 5 mile stretch of the River Usk in Crickhowell.
Garden Cottage is single storey with a couple of steps from the kitchen into the cosy sitting room which has a woodburning stove. The modern fitted kitchen is made by one of the craftsmen on Glanusk Estate and is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker with ceramic hob, washing machine, dryer and microwave oven. There is one double room (king size bed) and one twin room (3′ beds). The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail. All linen and bath towels are supplied and Glanusk cottage has central heating throughout. The cosy sitting room has a flat screen television with Freeview and a DVD player. Wood is provided for the duration of your stay. The cottage has adequate parking for up to three cars and guests are welcome to bring up to 2 well behaved dogs which must be restricted to the kitchen area. There is an additional charge for dogs, there is a boot room area with hooks for coats and a barbecue is available on request.

The sideboard holds a wealth of family favourite board games, and the large selection of DVDs and books will keep you entertained for hours. An abundance of toys and children’s play things will keep the kids amused on rainy days. There is a quality I-pod docking station for music lovers to enjoy and you don’t have to worry about the volume as there are no neighbours to disturb. Upstairs, the 3 bedrooms are tastefully decorated with solid oak furniture, cosy lamps and quality curtains. The king size room has en suite shower room. The middle bedroom can be a twin room or a king size room depending on your preference. The third bedroom is a twin room. All beds have pocket sprung, luxury mattresses with fine bed linen and luxury pillows to ensure the ultimate night’s sleep. All 3 bedrooms have TV / DVD players which can also play the Sky TV channels. A family shower room on the landing area has a toilet and vanity set up with large mirror. Patio doors lead into the gardens at the front and to the rear, from both the kitchen and the living room.
