At the Kardomah Cafe we have a long history of excellent service, great food and wonderful coffee. Kardomah Cafe are an independent, established, family run business of nearly 50 years situated in Swansea, South Wales. Traditional values are important to us and have helped us create a warm and friendly atmosphere, which is seen by many of our customers as an important part of their lives, a place to meet their friends, whilst enjoying quality food and drink.
Where possible we source from as many local businesses, such as sausages from the Gower Butcher, our Friday special, fresh salmon from Coakley Greens, cockles on the Saturday Welsh breakfast / fruit and vegetables, from Swansea market. Opened in 1957, our wonderful, spacious, family friendly cafe still has original wooden panelling, mosaic tiling and deco-ish reliefs providing a 50’s nostalgia fix for anyone who visits. Some of the same staff from over 30 years ago still work here, this all helps to foster the family culture enjoyed by our customers. The Cafe enjoys cult appeal for its retro decor and associations with poet Dylan Thomas. He described the Kardomah as “My Home Sweet Homah”. It has been used for location for “Set Fire To The Stars” a BAFTA Cymru award winning film about Dylan Thomas and also the David Tennant Dr. Who Christmas special episode. Coffee connoisseurs at The Daily Telegraph recently compiled a list of the top 50 coffee houses around the globe. It picked out the Kardomah Cafe in that list, as a “golden oldie” praising its fine brews, layers of history, its people watching potential and atmosphere. At the Kardomah we sell a wide range of coffee, wholesale and retail. We are able to sell our wonderful coffee, from our online shop and have it delivered to your door. To view our range of coffee and to place an order check out Coffee at Gower Coffee.

We brew to the highest standards using, old fashioned, traditional methods. Helping us achieve this is our Master Brewer, Dave Campbell. Dave has over 25 years brewing knowledge and experience.

Gigi Gao’s Chinese Restaurant in Swansea was Inspired by the lack of real Chinese cuisine within the local area so Gigi Gao ventured to change this and has. Based in the Swansea Maritime quarter Gigi Gao’s offers a unique dining experience not only do we cook the lesser known authentic Northern Chinese cuisine, but we also pride ourselves in making our customer’s dining an experience through a number of different and unique service initiatives.
Gigi Gao’s Chinese restaurant seats 200 providing a great atmosphere at our marina waterfront location for all types of dining. Whilst the dishes and flavours are unique to the local area, the growing following and subsequent high recommendations speak for themselves. The restaurant won The Best Oriental Restaurant in Wales in April, at The Golden Chopsticks Awards which was hosted by Gok Wan and endorsed by Ken Hom. At Gigi Gao’s Favourite Authentic Chinese restaurant we serve exactly that authentic Chinese food as would be found if you visited China. We are conscious of your health and welfare and consequently we do not use MSG additives to flavour the food unlike many UK based Chinese Restaurants. Our emphasis from day one is to send all our customers away happy, and perhaps a little more knowledgeable about our cuisine and culture. Everything we do is for a reason, whether it be the traditional Chinese dresses our servers wear, the handmade table clothes, the hand-made customised cutlery and crockery or the flamboyant decor, some of which depicts paintings of traditional Chinese characters and stories.
