Good Day Out offers unique engaging experience days with cute little animals and low key knowledgeable trainers who love what they do. All are held safely in small groups, but private sessions are also available. Based in the Brecon Beacons, South Wales, each experience also gives money to good causes while you have fun on your day out on a piggy walk, sheep dog session or a stroll across the Beacons with dinky donkeys. You can have a good day out whilst doing good! Whilst children are welcome, most of our visitors are adults who just love animals and the outdoors. Fantastic birthday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas and anniversary presents for all ages that help charities and local good causes whilst you have fun.
Julia Blazer, company founder, came up with the idea whilst grappling with how to make a living in a beautiful rural area with few employment opportunities. She hoped to not only engage people with the incredible sights and unique offerings the area had, but to also provide income for local people and the good causes that each Good Day Out supports. Julia sees the concept as a virtuous circle. With hand-picked local trainers who are passionate about what they do, people can really learn about the area and also have the feelgood benefit of knowing that a donation goes to a designated good cause every time someone has a good day out. Good Day Out’s mission is to provide interesting, educational, and fun ways for people to easily engage with animals, wildlife, the countryside and rural skills, whilst helping the trainers to raise money for specific projects and charities. Every experience day and product purchased on this site gives funds to the designated good cause whilst creating new employment opportunities and helping the local economy. As we’re based in the beautiful Brecon Beacons, we have an emphasis on local good causes and projects. In particular, we have a focus on experiences with an environmental, wildlife, or animal-related emphasis.
Dryad Bushcraft CIC (Community Interest Company) is a well established Bushcraft and Wilderness Survival School, based on the Gower Peninsular, Swansea in South Wales.
Established in 2004, Dryad Bushcraft CIC have earned ourselves a place as one of the foremost providers of practical Bushcraft training in the UK. We offer a range of courses for the beginner to experienced practitioner, and also specialise in training for corporate development, and teambuilding. Our instructors come from a diverse range of backgrounds including the Military, Outdoor pursuits and expedition leadership, to bring you safe and enjoyable wilderness training within the stunning surrounding of the UK’s first AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural beauty) The Area covers 188 sq Km with a coastline of 59 Km. Its complex geological formation has created a diverse range of terrain, condensed into a relatively small area. The South coast of Gower is predominantly carboniferous limestone which has formed into spectacular cliffs and sandy bays, popular with Rock climbers and surfers. The north coast is dominated by salt marshes and sand dunes, which support a range of flora and fauna to rival any in the UK. The inland sections of Gower play host to large areas of common land and sandstone heath ridges, including the majestic Cefn Bryn. Steep sided glacial valleys support plentiful deciduous and coniferous woodlands, perfect for the study of Bushcraft skills. The term Bushcraft is a recently adopted and more socially acceptable name for the practice of survival techniques and primitive living skills. What was once the exclusive preserve of a relatively small group of slightly odd people wearing camouflaged Jackets, wielding Axes, and building bivouacs in the woods, has now become the fastest growing Outdoor Pursuit in the United Kingdom.
We are committed to youth development and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources.

Coastal Foraging experiences are hosted by Craig Evans, he has a life-long passion for sea life and it’s environment; and a keen interest in all aspects of our localities, you will find the coastal foraging experiences both enjoyable and informative. The Coastal Foraging experiences will teach you all about edible sea-food, where to find or catch it and a bit of local history all at the same time. If all goes well, you’ll get to cook some of the delights that are discovered on a hand-made Solva Stove (a.k.a. Swedish Candle).
About Coastal Foraging
Craig takes walks along the coasts of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire and finds ingredients to cook up a feast right there and then – proving there are rich culinary pickings on the beach, from mussels to plants and crabs. “Since learning to read I have actively sought out all information I could gather on the coastal wildlife and environment” “Since growing up in the semi-rural Amman Valley on the slopes of the Black Mountains of Carmarthenshire, from a very young age I was taught how to pick wild foods such as mushrooms, wimberries (bilberries), blackberries, tickle trout and accompany my father to the coast to collect cockles.” “Following my 12 years as an RAF aircraft engineer, 17 years working for a major high street bank and having very recently sold my woodland after 8 years of management, I am now embarking on a career to share my knowledge and passion with the wider world.” “Throughout my various careers, I have continued researching hidden locations and had great joy in thoroughly learning about our great coast line in West Wales. For a great number of years, I have kept a large salt water aquarium where I have studied the behaviour of our vastly varied sea life.” “My hope for the future is to educate the wider world about our fantastic coastal environment and promote it’s conservation, and to inspire people to pass on any knowledge gained down through future generations. Drawing people to the area will also, hopefully, promote the local area and benefit the local communities.” If you like to see more of what we do, please CLICK HERE to view our YouTube channel.
