Transport for Wales have big plans to improve rail travel across Wales over the next 5 years and beyond. Over the next 15 years we will transform the network across Wales and the Borders, with new services and rolling stock, innovative solutions, and a massive programme of station investment. Arriva Trains Wales were the previous operator of the Wales and Borders network. Arriva Trains Wales services transferred to Transport for Wales Rail Services on 14th October 2018.
Transport for Wales was set-up to ‘Keep Wales Moving’ by delivering expert advice, customer-focused services and targeted investment in modern transport infrastructure. TFW is blessed to serve many fantastic locations across Wales and the Borders, with our network linking beautiful countryside and award-winning beaches to the major cities of Cardiff, Swansea, Birmingham and Manchester. TFW are investing £1.8bn to revitalise rail travel in Wales and the borders investing £194m to modernise all 247 stations.
