Dunraven Hotel – Rhondda Valley, South Wales

Dunraven Hotel

The Dunraven Hotel is a family run pub at the top of the world famous Rhondda Valley in South Wales, where a warm Welsh welcome will always await you. The pub dates back to the late 19th Century where we believe that it may have been a court house prior to its conversion into pub.

The Dunraven Hotel is situated at the foot of Penpych mountain, which is one of only two flat topped spur mountains in Europe which is ideal for walkers and mountain bikers alike. The Rhondda Valley is world famous for its coal mining, with its coal being deemed the best in the world. Unfortunately long gone are the days of mining and all that remains is a museum dedicated to the history of the area which is approximately 8 miles away from the Dunraven Hotel. We are delighted to be encapsulated by mountains which is a haven for walker, bikers and wildlife. Treherbert is situated in the centre of a triangle between Cardiff, Swansea and Brecon so it makes an ideal base to explore the best that wales has to offer from the vibrancy of Cardiff city centre, the coasts of Swansea and the charm of the Brecon Beacons which are all not much further than 30 mins away. We have easy access to local transport which caters for routes into the city centre and other destinations, making travelling from our hotel hassle free.
